The Hawkinsville/Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer a program designed to help our merchants.  Companies and individuals can now purchase “ChamberChecks” from our local chamber office.  These “ChamberChecks” are in effect gift certificates available in small denominations that are redeemable at any accepting Pulaski County merchant.  The checks can be printed in any denomination.  Companies and institutions, such as H&V or the Pulaski Prison System, and even individuals  can purchase these and give them to their employees, business associates, friends and family.  The employee will simply present the “ChamberCheck” at any participating merchant.  The merchant accepts the certificate just as they would a check and deposit it with their daily receipts.  This program is designed to benefit everybody.    That money STAYS in Pulaski County!

HOW THE EMPLOYEE/RECIPIENT BENEFITS:  They now have a gift certificate that is redeemable at a variety of locations.  No longer are they restricted to just one establishment.  No longer must they travel out of town in order to redeem their gift certificates.  They also get the added satisfaction of dealing with local friends and helping to support their community.

HOW THE GIVING COMPANY/INDIVIDUAL BENEFITS:  They now have a method to award employees that not only gives a greater value to the employee, but they are able to help support their local community as well.  For large purchases, the gift certificates could even be custom printed with the companies name and logo in addition to the chamber’s name.  Custom denominations are also available on these large purchases.

HOW THE ACCEPTING MERCHANT BENEFITS:  The merchant now has another drawing card to their establishment.  The customers can now redeem their award/gift money locally.  Most purchases will be MORE than the gift amount.  The local merchant has the opportunity for add-on or additional sales.  The “ChamberCheck” will help get the customer in the door and give the merchant the chance to “sell” their goods and services.  It may help bring in someone that has never before entered their store.  The merchant will treat the “ChamberCheck” as a check and deposit it with the day’s receipts.  No difficult redemption is necessary and they can be assured that the check is ALWAYS good.  Participating merchant names will be pre-printed on all “ChamberChecks” thus giving additional advertising to these establishments.

HOW THE COMMUNITY BENEFITS:  Dollars stay local and sales taxes are generated.  Money that is spent in Hawkinsville tends to stay in Hawkinsville.  Sales taxes benefit the local governments as well as the school system and the Courthouse/Opera House renovations.

HOW THE CHAMBER BENEFITS:  "ChamberChecks" is a proactive way that our chamber can step-out front in the business community and partner with our members in an effort to feed our local economy and at the same time drive home our slogan of "Shop Hawkinsville First".  The Chamber once again supports the local businesses with a win-win opportunity.  Local businesses grow and prosper, sales taxes are generated, Chamber fees are better justified, companies can now award their employees with an added value campaign.  It is great to have a benefit that doesn't come out of the member's pockets.  This program helps retain members and even encourages new members to join the Chamber.  Also, any non-redeemed "ChamberCheck" certificates are bottom line profit for the Chamber.  The program is very low cost and low maintenance
